Sorry to bump this I tried searching and didn't find a relevant topic.

I am flying LYS-ZRH in Y. It says 1 piece of baggage at 23kg. Does *G get extra weight or an extra bag?

I am flying EWR-CDG UA J and out LX ZRH-SFO F which are one one ticket but this little hop is on its own ticket. I want to bring my regular size bag that is usually around 28-30kg when I pack it because I am going to NRT for a week after SFO.

If it's an extra piece and not weight I may bring a cheap duffle I have to throw some shoes and random things is to make two bags under 23kg. Hoping I can get extra weight.
