Yet AC's non-direct flights are more expensive. So your rationale doesn't make sense.
Problem is legroom, legroom, legroom! If you're 6'3, every inch counts AND it's not one inch, it's at least 2 inches and with out older premium seats offering it's more like 3-4 inches depending on which row.
