I will be Gold too for the first time in April (all other things being equal, US Airways Irrops notwithstanding !) and I shall expect:
- a personal escort to take me from Flounge to gate
- the Captain to salute as I board
- a pair of cabin crew with brooms to sweep the path before me
- a row to myself (up the front, naturellement....)
- a menu personalised to my individual preferences
- everyone else to be held back until I have gracefully deplaned
Unfortunately, what I think I'm more likely to get is:
- a C gate suddenly showing on screens no earlier than T-10
- the cabin crew pretending to smile at me as I board
- an aisle jammed with people utterly devoid of personal space awareness
- 2 hours playing armrest shove ha'penny with a hairy-a****d engineer
- a tiny, cellophane sandwich and all the c**p coffee I can drink
- an aisle jammed with people utterly devoid of personal space awareness, again :-(
So, normal service then :-)
