Something I've always found interesting with BA, is that a (presumably most senior) cabin crew member announces 'cabin crew seats for takeoff/landing', the actual indication for just about to enter the runway is via two or three 'bongs' over the PA from the flight deck.
The flight deck have always done the seats for takeoff/landing announcement with all other airlines that I've flown with. This makes more sense imo, the cabin crew can never otherwise be 100% when takeoff is going to commence.
The flight crew would never takeoff until the SCCM has given them the secure for takeoff signal, the SCCM only gives the signal when the cabin and galley checks are complete AND the "cabin crew seats for takeoff" announcement has been made.
The bongs given by the flight crew are a final indication of takeoff only.
