I love Melia hotels, but have had a few weird account situations with them as well.

A few months ago, 4,000 points appeared in my account...and then disappeared within a couple of weeks.

Then, more recently, 10,000 points posted to my account (which I assumed might have something to do with my free birthday night)....and they disappeared soon after that...

Any idea what is going on?

And good to know about not transferring out promo points. I think that would be an easy mistake to make. I think Melia should have a hard block in their system that would prevent such as thing, so they don't have to track down and punish people who may have purposefully OR mistakenly done something...
