Interesting you show that post with the QR code on it. I was sure when I wanted to activate my m-ticket I just pressed a button in the app itself.
I will pay more attention next time.
Still it would have been so much easier if they did it the London way. Tap a contactless credit card on the reader (there's smartcard readers on the platforms for their 'not quite as good as Oyster' scheme) and then leave the ticket machines for those who don't have a suitable card.
I feel the same on the T&W Metro when I miss a train waiting for people who are new to the area try and get a ticket.
