You are right, flights with origin/destination of a hub city and market is served non-stop will likely require non-stop. Also the darn RT w/ minimum stays are there too

That's an interesting bit of cynicism. The same fare rules apply to the search engines of delta.com, Orbitz, ITA Matrix, or a travel agent. They also apply whether or not one sees the detail
There was already evidence presented that different results were coming up based on how you search and that the search results posted were not always the lowest fare available. By hiding the source data, no one would be the wiser.
