Overall, I would say it is not normal/you are unlucky if it is a bit crazy and arriving at 10.30 should help in this respect. In my experience, it seems to be at its worst mid afternoon.

Edited to add: having written what I have written, I should mention that although it can get busy, I've never been delayed excessively (even the time I needed to queue outside) and as you will have luggage to collect, I wouldn't worry about being delayed too much if I was you.
