I find the generic side discussion on whether airport assistance is being abused or not less than helpful. Airlines have deliberately chosen to use declarative criteria to attribute such assistance and I am not too sure why we should double guess that. Moreover, it is worth remembering that people requesting airport assistance also imply additional constraints such as arriving earlier than other people at the airport, disembarking last from the plane, etc.
