I am going to preface this post by saying I know it isn't the preferred method of viewing the Taj Mahal, and that I know I'd be better of going at another time so I can fully appreciate it, etc. I am really wanting to know if this is LOGISTICALLY possible as I've never been to India and hear some horror stories of delays for various reasons.

We would be flying in from Kuala Lumpur into Delhi in business class (only say that for fast track/immigration purposes if it matters) and arriving at around 9:50pm. Our departure flight would be at 4:30am two days later on Etihad in First.

My thoughts on the two options would be to catch a cab straight from the Delhi airport to Agra, my understanding is the new expressway cuts that drive down to around 2-2.5 hours. Stay the night in Agra at the Sheraton and see the Taj and Fort until early afternoon, take a taxi back to Delhi, get a room in Delhi for the purposes of dropping bags and cleaning up then explore some of Delhi for the evening, have dinner, and head back to the airport around 1:00-1:30am for our flight.

The other option would be to get a hotel in Delhi and catch the express train at 6:15am and the express train returning at 8:00pm, but that really gives us a lot less flexibility.

We would be landing late on a Friday night. Is there any variables that would make the timing of this too risky?

I know there are other forums for driver recommendations, but if someone is reading this and has a rock solid one that they would care to refer I would love to have it!
