I loved my stay at this hotel. Great location. Breakfast was great. Worn carpet doesn't bother me, and the suite upgrade made up for anything else that might be less than perfect. Staff was awesome.

An ATM card is all you need for Euro. I suppose you might check with your bank first but if it has several networks on the back it's probably OK. Take some out at the airport, there's also several ATMs across from the hotel. Don't fall for the common ATM "convert to dollars first" trick...make it look purely Euro. Better rate if you let your bank convert it. AVOID the currency exchange booths. If anything, they have gotten to be more of a scam, which I don't understand given the ease of ATMs.

Use a "no foreign transaction fee" credit card for most of your purchases. One with a chip will save some hassle over the legacy US mag stripe cards.

Get a Rick Steves' Travel book (ipad version if nothing else). It will save you way more in time than it will cost you to read. First tip: Get the (awesome) hotel concierge to book you a res at the nearby Borghese Gallery ASAP upon arrival.

OK, to make this a fair review, I will point out one bad thing. It's a bit of a hike uphill to the Metro. Oh, and go around the side/back of the hotel to find the small city cafes for coffee, half (or more) price of the hotel or Via Veneto.
