Stayed here for one night last night.

The first time I've ever emailed a complaint to a hotel manager at a Hilton-branded hotel (Diamond, stay in various Hilton/Conrad properties globally regularly).

Pros
- Views - WTC views are amazing - admittedly some are still of a building site
- Foyer/entrance - nice.
- Service - cheerful, no complaints on check-in
- Location - very convenient for that area
- Dinner - lovely steak. Admittedly they tried leaving a drink *off* the bill in error. I wasn't able to try the breakfast unfortunately.

Cons
- Rooms and foyer area of each level are pretty dated
- Bathrooms need a good overhaul

The main reason for my complaint was the lack of proper curtains on half of my windows. They only had the thin see-through curtains. On ringing the front desk (at 11pm when I realized), I was advised that they had been taken for cleaning and wouldn't be available until the morning.

Unfortunately the "pro" above - views - also meant my room was lit up like a Christmas tree.

Another weird quirk - when I went to ring the front desk I realized I had no clue where to dial. See the picture

I have this hotel booked again for 2 weeks time with my family. Am undecided whether I will:

1. Take the offered upgraded room (1 King 1 Bedroom Suite With Parlor) as an apology
2. Upgrade further for $100 (1 King Bed 1 Bedroom Luxury Suite)
3. Cancel and stay elsewhere. Have stayed at the Doubletree on Times Square - great for the family (wife + 4 year old) but no pool.
