I had a couple 6am Monday morning DCA - DTW flights a couple years back on 737s which maybe had 20 people max.

In one case I was upgraded and the next time I missed the upgrade (DL gold at the time) and it was actually better because I had the entire Economy Comfort row to myself to stretch out on and pass out for the short hop up to DTW
