50k points for a Citi Hilton Card with just $1000 spend (in the first 4 months). So I would suggest doing that for Hilton, then putting the rest of your spend (which is now $19000) toward something else. Then next year* get another Hilton card for another 50k with another $1000 spend.
(*At this moment if you use the right link you can get a Hilton 50k card several times a year. That may or may not change soon to only once every 18 months. But 50k once every 18 months still get you more HHonors points than $10000 spend every year!)
I didn't know you can apply for the same cards multiple times? How does this work? Does all your account just transfer to a new card number?
Also, I just recently signed up for a Barclay's Arrival Plus. I did this because when I travel, I usually travel with friends so we always split the hotel rooms, so I think having a card for air flight seems more logical to me. And I like how this allows you to get points even if you purchase on those discount sites like Kayak..
But I'm starting to regret this decision and maybe I should've gotten the Chase Sapphire?
Was this a good decision? Sorry my post is starting to sway off a little. I still want to get another hotel rewards card maybe 6 months later? Possibly look into HHilton from what you guys are saying.
