Catering wise, I think we'll agree to disagree - disgusting, inedible food is a brand hallmark of Air Canada. UA might not offer anything close to a restaurant meal, but they deliver consistently better food than AC and I've had both.
AC J class food is not great, good once in a blue moon "maybe", but UA food makes AC food is like a 5 Star Restaurant.
