That was also what I remembered, but I wasn't sure. I also stayed in summer 2013.
They seem to have changed this at some point, since some people have been charged immediately recently.
Maybe they need all the money they can get their hands on at the moment.
I just booked yesterday, so we'll see what'll happen - I will report back.
I booked Wintersale Rate for 3 of my nights and AP Rate for one night.
