Well, here's another passenger from this flight. I'm an 18-year-old boy from the Netherlands. This is how I experienced the flight:
Wat "pinkydreams" is right for the biggest part. However, I did hear the pilot mention there were some issues. What I heard was that there was a technical problem with the airconditioning/pressure in the cabin. Therefore, we would have to return to Rome Fiumicino. For a long time then, we didn't hear the pilot anymore. Eventually we heard him again saying that it would take some more time than expected to land, and then he told us the estimated time we would land. This happened 2 or 3 times more, each time we were told that we would land later.. later.. This drove some people nuts. On top of that, I became very hot in the plane, everyone was sweating. Eventually some flight attendants brought us some water, but this didn't add very much to the ambiance. We circled there for how long? 2 hours?
When we finally got on the ground, everyone wanted to go out. But we weren't allowed to, since there weren't enough busses to bring us to the airport. People were stressing and screaming against the flight attendants, and - of this I'm not sure - a person got unwell or even a heartattack. I put my fingers in my ears because this was the only way for me to remain calm. When we got out, there was an ambulance and police. We went back to the airport and went through a new gate with passport and old boarding pass, and flew back with another airplane from the same company. What pinkydreams says about the time arriving, is correct.
I understand the terrible situation has no influence at all for getting a refund, I just want to mention that you can not imagine how it's like, until you experience something like this for yourself.
Though, I'd like to ask all of you: Is there any possible way to get a refund, looking only to the 5-hour delay?
Kind regards,
x
