Yes it is for a job (but my employer is not paying for the car rentals, the rental is for my convenience and will basically be a personal car). I could still get the contracted rates, which are basically just AAA rates.
I have a non-owners policy through Geico, which I obtained specifically for occasions when I need to borrow another's car and wanted to have my own liability, and for rental cars. The non-owners policy covers liability (together with my umbrella policy) and I use a credit card for the collision.
Of course, I'll have to ensure that my policies cover situations such as this where I am renting for so many days a year.
I know that many car rental agencies have discounts for monthly rentals, but don't have a specific policy for a many individual long but not monthly rentals.
I intend to just start calling all of the managers/owners at the companies at the airport I am renting from and explaining the situation to see what I can work out. But I had hoped someone with a similar prior experience could give me some advice about what to expect.
