For an upcoming trip, I'm looking at redemptions out of SYD in J or F at the least.

Last time, I couldn't get anything to SIN on, or around, the dates I wanted so did SYD-MEL-SIN in J.

Would have done places I want to see prior to Sydney so no need to stop off for days in places (although subject to change).

Options seem to be (ranging from direct-ish to convoluted):

QF F to LHR (via DXB) 150,000 Avios + £346?
QF F to DXB and then fly from DOH or Abu Dhabi to Germany/London / UK.
CX J to wherever and then MH / BA / CX J/F from there.
QF F to LAX and then head east or even west.
QF, CX, BA to SIN, KUL, HKG etc....


Never been to the Middle East area before so would be something different.
Was looking at costings for the QR A380 in F but can only find business class (although only tried a few dates) - plenty F on the A340s.

AirBerlin from Abu Dhabi to FRA (or whever) and then London is cheap at 34,000 Avios + £52 although have flown them before so trying something else would be nice.
