Update - managed to get through to Finnair eventually and nice lady had no issue "apparantly" in getting the seat map for the JAL sector (AY flight number). She is now sending the confirmation on seat choice so just a lesson to all who do this - ...... Seems that the aircraft is already quite busy....thanks for everyone's input.
