IIRC, China (pre-communism) had a death penalty for DUI (I recall seeing this in a Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not article years ago). And, as a Texan, Texas does NOT have any such silliness. Drunks who kill people may get the death penalty, but not for the act of DUI. OTOH, perhaps a DUI SHOULD be considered attempted murder .
