As far as the rest of what you say, I couldn't agree more. Fly somebody other than AC. And at the point delta, fly J not Y absolutely.
These are good points - these seats are scarce, but they do exist. TK out of YUL seems particularly generous.
On top of that, the website is designed to "prefer" AC/LH combos, makes sense, it brings in most money for Air Canada. If you search YYZ-ZRH, it will most often give you enough combos on AC/LH, that the LX/LO connections wont make it onto the screen.
And as for LH F class - its still plentiful 14 days out. And believe it or not, Aeroplan is actually the best program to get those TATL seats, 62000 points + $500 is the cheapest out of any program.
