Yes, I know lobsters and cockroaches are remotely related, biologically.... I ended up swapping my lobster with my friend's shrimp dish. Same difference, but at least the shrimps are breaded and fried, so I couldn't see what I was eating.
I don't know, the comment would not have made me think of cockroaches or grossed me out. In fact as a kid we would go down to the stream that wasn't far from my house and catch crayfish to cook and eat. So yeah, something that looks like that lobster only smaller, basically
was crawling around my backyard and I ate it. That's a good thing in my book.
Notwithstanding that, if it really was said out of the blue, it seems like an odd thing for wait staff to say, as if she were purposely trying to gross out the customer.
