This hotel is the worst for trying to get a points reservation. There are a handful of nights in the first half of the year that have any availability. There have been a couple of threads - and the master thread is littered with posts like this.

Its too bad - two years ago we were able to make a reservation using extra points to get an upgraded room as the base category was sold out - and they no longer allow that. Really sucks as its a beautiful property and Punta Mita is a cool area.
