As an expectant father, who will be traveling with a lap-infant child in the next few months, I honestly would not trust UA, nor any airline worldwide, to provide a meal that I would want my <2 year-old eat, regardless of cabin. That's completely ignoring at this point, whether they would actually eat it or not.

Personally, I'm not that picky and will eat pretty much anything that complies with my limited dietary restrictions (no pork/seafood is the bulk of it). But even for a toddler, I've found that many aren't particularly flexible with what they eat - if they are adventurous and will even try new things (I know some that won't even go that far), and they don't like it, they generally just won't eat it. So even if it was SOP for lap infants to get a meal, I would not want to assume they would eat whatever is served, and would bring enough food items/snack items that are travel-friendly to get to my desitnation, anyway. Just my $0.02.
