My wife got upset at that, called the FA, and told her she might want to check the manifest. The FA checks and goes to talk to the captain. After a brief discussion, she calls the gate, reopens the door, and tells the man he has to deplane. I'll never know what triggered that reaction from the FA or the captain, but was definitely unexpected.
Bad day for that pax!
I considered bringing it to the FA's attention, and I think someone else may have. But even if they did, nothing was done about it.
Perhaps those were really their seats, but that still doesn't explain the group 4 BPs.
