Retailer GCs earn fuel perks, but periodically it also has promotion on Visa and such, normally during holiday seasons. It is capped at $1K purchase as I notice I earned the same $2 with a $2K receipt and a $1K receipt. The receipts are looooong when this happens as it split $1K into multiples of $50! Last year during Thanksgiving, there was no cap and a $2K receipt was so long both the CSR and i were startled when the POS kept spitting out the receipt. It added $4 to the fuel perk.
It also has bonus items that earns at an enhanced level. I saw a lot of wines currently have bonus fuel perks on them.
Unfortunately fuel perk points expire in the following month from the month they are earned. I have $7 expire in January. At most I could only use $2.50. I might ask the manager if I could "gift" the excess to his employees. (I think it might not be appropriate to "gift" it to him even I really like to thank him for permitting me using CC to buy VGC/PP).
