If it's accurate that she "invited [your] little girl to stay with her" then it's an offer made out of kindness and it's wrong for her to come to you
afterwards to ask for payment. If she wanted money in exchange for the rooming arrangement, she should have approached you first, privately, and been clear that she was proposing you pay her.
