It's not adult only but there may be fewer children than many upper-crust resorts: Four Seasons at Manele Bay on Lanai.

As Richard indicated, Big Sur isn't the usual beach experience, although gorgeous. Weather November - April can be rainy and foggy.

What about Mexico?
