I'm hoping the collective wisdom here might be able to help me out.

In the past I've been able to obtain business/first class flights FRA-SFO using aeroplan miles (with the online tool at aeroplan.ca) -- either with UA or LH. Now this appears to be much harder, presumably because the airlines cracked down on award availability.

Does anyone have an idea how to better access business/first class award flights on UA or LH (best using aeroplan miles)?
