Silly me, he put me right: "I don't have any on me!", and continued walking down the aisle. So I had to press the call button again. This time, an FA arrived in direct response to my call, belting: "YES???".

So in summary, the crew could easily have delivered the flight of our lives to the small number of passengers, and still sat down and rested comfortably for 80% of the flight. Instead, I, and the other passengers, received the most disinterested, charmless, cursory service, delivered without a single smile. I've seen plenty of p-d off, burnt-out, disillusioned crew travelling with pre-Bethune Continental and mid-Smisek United. This lot just didn't give a damn; the presence of passengers was merely a fleeting distraction in their travel experience. I get it that most readers of this thread think I am a spoilt old queen; there is no need for you to repeat yourselves. But if this is emblematic of the new American, they really are doomed.
