Cathay cancelled my award flight CX805

I have two F awards booked using AA miles on CX805 in March, part of a DFW-ORD-DPS trip. It was a smooth connection, leave Tuesday night after work from DFW-ORD, catch the midnight flight from ORD-HKG, arrive in HKG that morning and have a few hours layover until our 10:00am DPS flight.

My reservation erred out a couple of days ago when I was looking into it, but I thought it was just a system glitch on the main website, logged in today from the mobile app and my Cathay flight had been changed to CX807 leaving at 3:00pm the day before. My DFW-ORD flight is still scheduled to depart at 7:55pm on that same day, so someone changed the Cathay flight without changing the AA flight. I called AA and she said the Cathay flight had been cancelled, passengers must have automatically been rebooked on the prior days flight.

This stinks for a number of reasons, mainly because we would have to take an additional day off of work, spend a night in HKG (which we've already done dozens of times) and then catch the same flight from HKG-DPS we were originally on.

Do I have any leverage with anyone to get rebooked on the LAX or SFO flights that would allow the same connections? SFO is showing F5, LA is showing F4 and F3 on the two late night flights.

The AA/Cathay liaison is supposed to call me back, but I don't know what my rights are here.
