What do you care what others think about your choice of luggage tag use? Delta sends them to you, do with them what you want. Me, I put them on my bag. I'm only a Silver but it makes my bag easier to spot and it's a nice perk (one of few Silvers have left) so I'm going to take advantage of it. If people think it's arrogant than that's their problem.
When I was a Silver, I put a tag on my notebook case and kept it on the case wherever I went, in the hope that people seeing it would treat me with the same consideration and respect with which Delta treats Silvers.
And it worked, they did!
