That's really a question for your insurance company and credit card issuer.
In general, though, you should have no problem being covered by your personal car insurance policy (assuming they do cover rental cars--be sure to check)--they don't really care how you pay for the rental.
Your credit card issuer, on the other hand, may have an issue. Typically, the T&C require you to charge the full rental to your card in order to qualify for coverage. There are copious threads on FT with various reports from different card issuers on this topic--I've seen some reports that some MasterCards will provide coverage if at least one full day is charged to the card (even if you then use 6 other free days on a one-week rental), while other people have said their card issuer said that any coverage is void if even a small $5 discount is applied to the rental.
So, it's definitely YMMV, and you should definitely check with your credit card company to be sure how they'll handle it.
