Speaking for myself, I would travel the additional 5 hours and save $1100. If there is a longer layover why not explore a new place for day? That's a free stop-over Or enjoy time in a nice lounge... the TK one in IST is amazing... complete with a movie theatre and self-serve popcorn machine Or get a massage which they also offer
