UPDATE: I was speaking with a UA agent. As soon as I mentioned that doing a "long sell" had worked for some other agents, she put me on hold and... success! I'm ticketed in Business on SN, IAD-BRU. Agent was surprised it worked, and she mentioned there was never a memo to long sell SN flights. You learn something new everyday.
