My flight departs 8PM and I will park somewhere at the airport (not sure of best option yet).
I'm not able to stay the night there, so I will drive the same day.
I liked your comment about rush hour being 6AM to 8PM, that's a solid 14 hr rush!

Check out the stay park and fly rate at the airport hotels getting here the night before and staying a shuttle away has its advantages in stress reduction.
The three border crossings have their own rush hour schedule independent of the other two. Most GPS's standard program would take you to 190/405 Queenston/Lewiston bridge which makes it the choice for most traveler. Most of the time Rainbow bridge would be the shortest line and no truck traffic but you need to get into the tourist area of Niagara Falls on both sides of the border.
Rush hour highway traffic around YYZ is 6am to 8pm.
