So I have this traveling dilemma: most of my friends are married and I’m single. When I travel with my married friends, they always want to split the hotel 50/50 claiming they’re a “unit” and thus count as 1, and should only pay 50%. They also pull the “we’re sharing a bed and you get your own bed” line. I’m of the opinion that if there are THREE people staying in the room, the cost should be divided by THREE. I mean they share a bed at home anyway. I’ll note that their wives all have careers and jobs of their own, so they’re not unemployed stay at home moms.

What does everyone else think? Am I being unreasonable to want to split the room 3 ways? This isn’t just one friend, but literally all of my married friends are of this opinion. Frustrating. They have TWO incomes and I have one.
