Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone can advise-- I have a friend who would like to travel with me on an itinerary departing Sun 18 January-- needs a passport renewal, & we expect to be in the Bay Area 15th/16th (not near a US city with a passport office until then).

Is it viable to overnight an expedited renewal request to the Philadephia Office and have it sent to an address in the Bay Area? And/or (better?) to try the will call service in San Francisco?

UPDATE: As the DoS site says, the best way to avoid needed a last-minute passport/renewal is to plan in advance; or, the above is likely not the best of ideas and I think it will not pan out. However, not having been involved in a rush passport application for some years, I'd still like to know the answers.
