If on the CRJ-700, if you are sitting in First class, you can fit (and I do) a Tumi Alpha International Carry-on roller board under the seat in front of you. I always take 2D on that plane and it fits just fine and doesn't block space for the person in 2C, although usually I am traveling with them anyway.
