I have only just read this now but was under the impression when I have bought a ticket from BA that involved non BA and even Oneworld airlines that I was protected. That is BA had a duty to get me to my destination. Certainly I had a mis connect from Aer Lingus some years ago and missed the last flight to Hong Kong. BA put me in a hotel, the Renaissance if I remember correctly, and onto the next morning's 11am Cathay flight. It wasn't contentious just happened in a matter of fact way. Surprised and a little confused why the above happened and why it is suggested Air India should be the airline the passengers resort to given they bought the ticket from BA. Happy to be educated but this is contrary to my experience.
