They always say it's fine. They board with first class (me) even though they're not in FC, and even though they are on a different PNR
+1 my very pleasant seatmate in F the other day's daughter did this and boarded with her. I was a bit confused when the mom came and sat next to me and her daughter went back to MCE but makes sense now.
