It seems like something for Target to hold onto for their own tax reporting in the event of an audit; but, I've never run into one before. My load transaction went as normal - I signed on the screen, gave the last 4 digits of my card to the cashier, and then the register produced my load receipt. However, it also quickly produced a sales audit copy receipt for my pen-signature (the receipt ID and amount matched my load receipt, so, I didn't hesitate signing it - it seemed pretty generic mentioning "90 days" to return, etc.).
Same thing happened for my transaction today. Was loading a couple of $200 denomination gc as usual and the receipts printed out in the end.
Any ideas as to what could they be for?
