I trying to be of use to those passengers and suggested out loud to try Toronto City Center.
There was an ice storm in YUL on Sunday and the majority of YYZ-YUL and YTZ-YUL were cancelled (for example, only 3 out of 10 of the originally scheduled YTZ-YUL actually operated on Sunday). They rebooked most passengers on flights Monday, so it is possible that things were sold out on Monday to deal with the back up.
However, that doesn't excuse the lack of flexible thinking or product knowledge!
