OP, why do you have to fly Delta. I see a pretty low price on American if you can leave early in the morning, and prices on JetBlue that are significantly lower than you're seeing on Delta. So, waiting or picking another carrier are both options.
Also, go to a travel site like Expedia and look at vacation packages and see what you get.
True it is much cheaper on other carriers.
I was looking to fly Delta for the MQMs and willing to pay a slight premium, but not the prices currently being offered. Fiancee and I travel together only 2x a year and would have been nice to burn my Amex Comp Cert on this trip as well.
Worse comes to worse, I will book another carrier but willing to wait to see if Delta prices come down.
