Also Flying Blue (not *A, but one of the options) seem to give Gold status for 40K, which seams reasonable. But I've been told that it is harder to earn miles with them, compared to UA.

Bottom line is, that after few days of research I am even more lost then I was initially I am starting to think that it may not be worth all this trouble...
