With the PQD Waiver + Lounge Access out of the way, it's actually a crummy card with a super high AF.
The also discontinued MileagePlus Select card which I have is IMO the best card mainly because of the rewards.
3 miles per dollar on UA tickets, and most importantly, 2 miles per dollar spent at all gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and home improvement stores. This adds up to a ton of extra miles for me.
UA PP, like AMEX Platinum, is not about the reward, but benefits (which justifies a high AF).
Even OP is 1P, it does not change the benefit of this card, such as the PQD waiver and UC access (unless the OP has an international address and/or is an international 1P).
Remember - it is about justifying the AF, not about rewards. OP can use CSP to make all kinds of purchases as well to earn all the rewards and keep the UA PP at the same time.
Do you rather spend ~$400 to Chase or $2500-7500 to UA?
