Sad state of affairs at Air Canada

So in another thread I posted how an SE on an AE ticket has to check in with an agent to override the baggage fee, because in 2015 AC has still not found away around this.

YEG at 1300 was a zoo due to multiple delayed and canceled flights; as I was being checked in, the agent next to mine reached out to a lead named "Brian"; She pointed out that she could get these customers to YYZ but everything YYZ-YUL even in J was sold out, to which he replied "how can that be, there is something like 25 flights per day"..

I trying to be of use to those passengers and suggested out loud to try Toronto City Center. He replied that Air Canada doesn't fly there. I said yes not from here, but once in YYZ they can take a cab or bus downtown and make a YTZ-YUL flight. Air Canada doesn't fly from city center he again said, to which I replied yes they do, like 10 flights per day and they are mostly empty.

He, now getting angry, asks; are they jazz flights to which I replied, no, sky regional operating under ACx. Oh well we cannot book those flights they are just an affiliate; those passengers will just have to sleep in Toronto or drive, Montreal is not that far.

I have had YUL-YYZ's canceled before and within 20 minutes was sitting on a Q400 destined for YTZ instead of YYZ.

Training and basic knowledge of the AC network seems to be lacking somewhat terribly if this is what the leads are like.

As I had given up on "Brian" I whispered to the agent as I walked away; try YTZ-YUL instead of YYZ-YUL for the second leg. Hopefully the passengers get a better answer then a hotel voucher or "Just Drive" 6h....
