Have been lurking for a little over a year and have learned a lot from you so thanks in advance.

I have some questions regarding fare class availability for a direct flight from LAS to NYC. I plan to fly NYC - LAS on May 1 and return LAS - NYC on May 3.

I am able to choose an L or U fare for the flight out to LAS (approx $850) but am only given B or H fares as an option for the (direct) flight back, putting the price at approx $1,110.

It is the weekend that people will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo which, I am told, is usually when they have a big boxing match. Maybe this is why the prices are high and there is no cheaper fare class availability. Does that sound like a possibility?

I could use your advice

Would you suggest I wait and see if prices come down a bit? Maybe cheaper fare buckets will open up? or

Do you think I should just lock in these prices now because it is likely they will go up?

I appreciate your (expert!) advice.
