Correct, charges are separate on a CC statement. But usually, I've seen the e-receipt that UA sends for all pax on a PNR.
The only time I've seen them separated is when, for example, one uses a TCV, then even booking at the same time, when the e-receipt/ticket is sent out, it comes individually. However, its been a while since I've done this, so can't remember 100% if it books into the same PNR this way, but IIRC, it does.
OP - can you not expense just your portion of the amount, and provide the receipt whole receipt as proof, and note the situation. My guess is most companies see spouses come along occasionally, and that they don't have trouble handling paying out only a portion of the amount.
